The Coral CEA Sandbox provides a competitive advantage to members by making advanced IT and telecom services available to them via 'out of the box' technology building blocks.
The two Coral CEA founders, IBM and Nortel, have contributed virtualization technologies that make complex IT and telecom services available to members through an easy-to-use web services API. This state-of-the-art capability facilitates embedding advanced technology capabilities into a variety of applications and business processes -- driving productivity and competitive advantage. Specifically, the Coral CEA Sandbox provides “Web Services” of either a SOAP or a REST nature, that abstract and simplify communications and IT capabilities. Thus, developers need not have a detailed understanding of the underlying technologies that provide the services - only an understanding of how to consume the Web Service.
